Electric Hookup (F1 and MotoGP only)
Pitch Size: You must be able to fit your Entire Camp including your vehicle on to the pitch size 7m x 8m. This is due to the cabling restrictions. If you need a larger EHU pitch you need to pay for multiple EHU pitches.
Location: EHU will be situated at the back of the campsite – this means they will be 900m away from the entrance and hence further away from Silverstone. It is in/near a quiet family area, where noise levels are to be kept low.
This means that it will be 20-25 min walk from the hookup area to Club Corner at Silverstone. Cars (only) will be able to drive part way back to reduce the walk to 15 minutes.
Price: £85 per EHU In addition to your Pitch Price (depending on event and arrival day). All payable in advance and non-refundable. The Hook Up Options are therefore as follows:
Arrive Tues/Weds/Thurs : Camping + EHU = £165 per pitch
Arrive Friday Camping + EHU = £145
Arrive Saturday Camping + EHU = £130
Arrive Tues/Weds/Thurs Camping + EHU = £155 per pitch
Arrive Friday Camping + EHU = £135
Arrive Saturday Camping + EHU = £120
Pitches include One EHU toegether with up to two adults and two children (under 14), one tent/caravan with one vehicle. One campervan or Motorhome is also one pitch.
Extra Persons and vehichles are charged in addition – details can be found on the relevant F1 or Moto GP Camping pages.
Facilities: At the Hook Up area there will be tap water and a single flushing toilet unit. Showering will be in our main shower block nearer our entrance, so some way from the hook up area.
You will need to pay electronically.
Once we have your completed EHU Booking Form, we will confirm availaiblity and payment details.
When paying please add Reference as follows: F1/EHU/ or MGP/EHU/your initial &surname to allow us to allocate payments. eg:F1/EHU/CWilson
Your EHU will not be booked until a completed booking form and payment has been received AND we have confirmed in writing by email that your booking has been received and you have been given an EHU Booking Reference.
Once a Booking Reference has been given no refunds will be available. This is due to cost of hiring in all the EHU equipment. No bookings will be accepted after 4 weeks prior to the event.
On Site Arrival:
You will receive a EHU Pass on arrival, please only pitch in the EHU allocated to you. If you have additional persons or vehicles to pay for this will need to be paid for on arrival, so that you have the correct vehicle passes and wristbands for your group.
You will be given a EHU Breaker Cable to use on your hook up. Due to some going missing last year we will be taking a £20 CASH deposit for each cable, which will be refunded in full on return of the cable.
If you can not fit your Entire Camp including vehicle in to the pitch area then you will be required to move your camp on to a non electric camping area.
Electrical Details: A single 16 Amp single phase CeeForm Socket will be provided for your plot giving 8amps allowance per pitch
The electrical supply will have 1 no 30mA RCBO to provide fault & overload protection. This supply is rated at 8 amps. You should note that 8amps is not enough for a conventional household kettle.
Live In Caravans & Campers: Need to bring a double insulated three core cable which is of an outdoor grade and has a 16a single phase CeeForm socket on one end and a plug on the other. This must be a minimum 2.5mm cable.
Tent Campers: Need to bring a suitable cable for their hook up. This must be a 16a single phase CeeForm plug (blue) with sutiable grade of double insulated three core outdoor cable. 1.5mm or larger (twin and earth is NOT acceptable)
The other end of the cable should be a 13a socket with some form of protection, electrical and mechanical. The cable should ideally be 20m long but a maximum of 30m.. The 13a socket must be kept off the ground, under cover & away from liquids.
The Electric will be provided by Temporary Diesel Generator due to the countryside nature of the campsite. This means the supply has to be restricted to 8amps. If you use too many items at the same time the power will trip.
DRC reserves the right to refuse connection without refund if:
- They feel your equipment is not fit for purpose or does not meet the required standards or specification
- Your hook up causes persistent trips or trips out other users.
- Your camping unit does not fit in to the allocated Pitch Area.
- You cannot provide the proof of payment for the pitch
It is your responsibility as Camper to ensure that the plug, cable and associated sockets used to connect between the distribution board and the Campers unit/pitch are safe and fit for purpose.
DRC will not accept responsibility for any accident or loss arising including from the use of unsafe & unsuitable equipment connected to the electrical supply.
